  1. Good song but prefer the faster tempo when they sing it live now.

  2. One of the most under rated bands of the 70's and 80's. The music was original with lyrics describing a variety of emotions both humorous and tinged with sadness. I never grow tired of hearing this band and their fabulous songs.

  3. There's a stain on my notebook
    Where your coffee cup was
Oh there's ash in the pages
    Now I've got myself lost
I was writing to tell you
    That my feelings tonight
Are a stain on my notebook
    That rings your goodbye

    Oh now she’s gone
and I’m back on the beat
    a stain on my notebook
    says nothing to me
    Now she’s gone
and I’m out with a friend
    with lips full of passion
    and coffee in bed

With the way that you left me
    I can hardly contain
    The hurt and the anger
And the joy of the pain
    Now knowing I am single
They'll be fire in my eyes
And a stain on my notebook
    For a new love tonight

    Oh now she’s gone
and I’m back on the beat
    a stain on my notebook
    says nothing to me

Oh now she’s gone, and I’m out with a friend
With lips full of passion, and coffee in bed.
Oh now she’s gone, and I’m out with a friend, with lips full of passion
    And coffee in bed

Oh now she’s gone, and I’m out with a friend, with lips full of passion, and coffee in bed

    From the lips without passion
To the lips with a kiss
    There's nothing of your love
    That I'll ever miss
    The stain on my notebook
    Remain all that's left
Of the memory of late nights
    And coffee in bed
Of the memory of late nights and coffee in bed

    Now she's gone
And I'm back on the beat
    A stain on my notebook
    Says nothing to me
Now she's gone, I’m back on the beat, oh a stain on my notebook, says nothing to me
    Oh now she’s gone
And I'm out with a friend
    With lips full of passion
    And coffee in bed
    Now she’s gone …

  4. Is that Elvis Costello singing around the 5:39 mark?! Sounds like EC!

  5. I think this song has some Smokey Robinson vibes….

  6. Just discovered this band today. I like it.
The singer reminds me a bit of Neil Finn from Crowded House

  7. Class act love squeeze glen and chris great observers of life great guitar riffs too tdq top drawer quality

  8. Blue eyed soul music from the palest band since the average white band. Tempted is a blue eyed soul classic too.

  9. I went to see Squeeze at Saratoga Performing Arts Center a couple of summers ago. They opened for Hall & Oates, and in my humble opinion, we’re much better than the headliner. They finished the show with this song, and made it into an extended jam.
