  1. Isn't this pretty progressive? People say that the Collins era is just pop rock.

  2. My favourite..Musical Masterpiece.Left on an island…Every record Phil Collins ever graced.14 – 46 & Beyond! 🙂

  3. Blood on the windows…that only lives on in a song, oh….

  4. Two things:

    1. Am I the only one who thinks this should really be three parts?

Part 2: (I don't know what it would be called.)

    Blood on the Windows
Millions of ordinary people are there
    They gaze at the scenery
They act as if it is perfectly clear
Take a look at the mountains
Take a look at the beautiful river of blood.

    The liquid surrounds me
I fight to rise from this river of hell
    I stare round about me
Children are swimming and playing with boats
    Their features are changing
Their bodies dissolve and I am alone.

Now see what you've gone and done.
Now see what you've gone and done.

    Part 3: The Last Domino"

Well now you never did see such a terrible thing
As was seen last night on T.V.
Maybe if we're lucky, they will show it again
Such a terrible thing to see – oh

But there's nothing you can do when you're next in line
    You've got to go domino.

Now I'm one with the living and I'm feeling just fine
I know just what I gotta do
Play the game of happiness and never let on
That it only lives on in a song – oh

Well there's nothing you can do when you're next in line
    You've got to go domino.
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?

The ending could also be a 4th part.

    In silence and darkness
    Hold each other near tonight
    For will it last forever?
Will it last forever – forever…

There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
    You've got to go domino.
Do you know, do you know, do you know what you have done
Do you see what you've begun?
    Cos there's nothing, nothing, nothing
There's nothing you can do, there's nothing you can do
Do you see, do you see what you have done?

    2. I don't know when I first thought of this, but I wonder what it would be like if Michael Jackson helped with part.

    Michael:

    Blood on the windows
Millions of ordinary people are there
    They gaze at the scenery
They act as if it is perfectly clear
Take a look at the mountains
Take a look at the beautiful river of blood
    The liquid surrounds me
I fight to rise from this river of hell
    I stare round about me
Children are swimming and playing with boats
    Their features are changing
Their bodies dissolve and I am alone

    Probably both Phil, and Michael:

Now see what you've gone and done
Now see what you've gone and done

    Phil:

Well now you never did see such a terrible thing
As was seen last night on TV
Maybe if we're lucky, they will show it again
Such a terrible thing to see
But there's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
    You've got to go domino

    Michael:

Now I'm one with the living and I'm feeling just fine
I know just what I got do
Play the game of happiness and never let on
That it only lives on in a song oh (That would be replaced with Michael's usual "OW!!".)
There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
    You've got to go domino
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?

    Phil:

    In silence and darkness
    Hold each other near tonight
    For will it last forever
    Will it last forever?

Michael would add an additional "Will it last forever?" , but he'd sing/shout it. (Listen to the middle of Blood On The Dance Floor, after the second chorus.)

    Phil:

Forever (He would sing that the way he does in most live versions.)

Then before the beat starts again, you.'d hear Michael do a long "OWW!!!" or "OOOH!!!", like in the beginning of DSTYGE.

The reason why I'd want Phil and Michael to end that section like that is to add to the epic string build.

After that it would be Phil and Michael singing different lines. At one point Phil would sing "But there's nothing you can do when you're the next in line", followed by Michael singing "You've got to go…", followed by an "OW!!!".
