WHAT a brilliant song. First heard it years ago when on holiday in Dorset and I couldn't get it out of my head.
When this song came out, few people knew much about Corey Haim beyond his status as a late-80s teen idol. Most of us who listened to The Thrills knew him as the guy from The Lost Boys, or the inspiration for Lisa Simpson's crush "Corey". If you mentioned the name Corey Haim in 2005, you were evoking a long-gone seemingly innocent Americana ("something once pure"). Only after this song came out did we hear about all the awful things Corey Haim had been through.
